Pawsitive Ideas for President's Day

Looking for some ideas for President's Day in your classroom?  I have rounded up some of my favorites to share with you.

These are the great books fore President's Day!  

I love integrating social studies with reading!
Do you know how big the President's plane is? 
 Do you know who the Civil War was fought between?
 Did you know that you would have to climb 897 steps to reach the top of the Washington Monument?
 Where can you find a President with eyes that are 11 feet across?
Did you know that George Washington grew to be over sick feet tall and wore a size 13 shoe?
Did you know that the President can go bowling and to the movie theater without leaving his home?
What famous speech was made on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial?
Did you know that the President gets to roll Easter eggs on the White House Lawn?
The All Things Presidential Unit teaches all these interesting facts and more using engaging nonfiction texts.  Text based questions and options for written response are also included.

This video shows the names and faces of all the Presidents set to patriotic music.  My kids love watching the faces change.
