St. Patrick's Day is the perfect time for this review game.
I set this game up to review subtraction facts, but it could just as easily be used to practice addition facts.  This game is played following the general concept of Chutes and Ladders.  The game is played in partners.  To begin the game, both partners start on one square.  The first partner flips over two cards and find the difference between the two numbers.  Then, they move their game piece (I used Spring erasers) that number of spaces.  If a rainbow is landed on, you get to move your game piece to a higher number on the board by sliding on the rainbow.  If a star burst is landed on, you have to move back to a lower number on the board.
The kids had a lot of fun with this unit and begged to keep playing with math time was over.  If you would like to try the game with your class, you can download it as a FREEBIE by clicking the image above.

Green Shamrocks is an adorable book written by the classic children's author Eve Bunting.   In this story, Rabbit goes into the forest to find the perfect yellow pot to grow green shamrocks in.  Rabbit wants to grow his very own shamrocks so that he can make a necklace to wear in the St. Patrick's Day Parade.  It is almost parade time, when Rabbit discovers that his shamrocks have gone missing.  The children are left wondering if Rabbit will be able to find his shamrocks in time.  This is a precious story of friendship with lovable characters and adorable illustrations!
Here is a little FREEBIE that I created to go with the Green Shamrocks book.  Click on the image above to download a copy of the cut and paste activity to review ending punctuation for sentences.

St. Patrick's Day by Anne Rockwell uses children friendly language and delightful illustrations to share some of the history and traditions of St. Patrick's Day.  This book is a fun way to explain the meaning behind some of the most common St. Patrick's Day traditions.

After reading St. Patrick's Day by Anne Rockwell, I have my kids record their learning on this FREEBIE printable.  You may get a copy of use in your classroom by clicking on the image above.
