October Pinterest Pick 3

Welcome to October!  October brings the promise of cooler weather here in Texas which I am really looking forward to!  Unfortunately, October also brings on the dreaded teacher slump.....the excitement of back to school is over and then you realize the next holiday is not until Thanksgiving...ugh!!!
Hopefully, as you browse through this month's pins you will be able to find a bit of inspiration to bring some fun into your classroom over the next few weeks!

I just love this idea for adding a little fun to October.  The basic idea is to surprise another class with candy or another treat. The best part is it is a FREEBIE!!!  I can't wait to kick off "You've Been Owled" on my campus.

Pinterest Pick 3: Back to School Edition

Welcome to the Back to School Edition of the Pick 3 Pinterest Party!  Thanks for stopping by!  If you are looking for some inspiration for your classroom, you have come to the right place!

Back to school is always an exciting time for teachers and students.  Last week, I accepted a new position at a new school.....I am excited for new beginnings and new opportunities!  I wanted to share a few pins with you this month about one of my Teacher Favs......Washi Tape!!!!

This pin was life changing when I saw it last spring.  I keep a notebook with me at all time to write down lesson ideas, parent contacts, meeting notes....heck even shopping lists!  One thing that always bugged me is how things were just randomly in the notebook in the order I wrote them.  Now....thanks to this pin....I color code the side of my journal pages by category.  I know it takes a little bit of extra time, but it makes my organizational heart happy and more importantly.....it's SUPER cute!

I think this would make a great way to turn the traditional First Day of School photo into a precious keepsake.  To save time, I would want to have the sticks covered before school started or have a parent volunteer to help me with the task.

Welcome to this month's Pick 3 Party!  Thanks for stopping by!  If you are looking for some inspiration for your classroom this month, you have come to the right place!
March marks the beginning of Spring and I love bringing a little bit of Spring into the classroom.  Here are a few of the ideas that I have found on Pinterest that I plan to use during the month of March with my students.

I have been sprouting seeds with my lil' pups for more years than I care to count, but I have never attempted to sprout seeds from a sponge.  I can't wait to try this out!

Growing bulbs is something that very few of my kids have ever seen in person.  I love being able to grow them in transparent cups so that the root development can be seen.

Bees play such an important role in the Spring.  This lesson idea helps kids to understand how pollination occurs.

Pick 3: December's Pinterest Pics ~A New Linky~

This month, my sweet friend Marissa, from The Inspired Owl's Corner, and I are kicking off our monthly Pick 3 Pinterest Linky party.  On the 3rd of each month we will be sharing with you our top three Pinterest finds for our classroom for the upcoming month.
December is my favorite month in the classroom.  There are so many fun things that can be done with your students.  Here are a few new ideas that I have found on Pinterest that I plan to use this month with my students.
Each year I try to help my students make a gift for their parents.

This year, I am going to have my student create a fingerprint Christmas tree.  For $1.00 each, I can purchase frames from Dollar Tree to frame their artwork.  The result will be an adorable keepsake that each child can give to their parents for Christmas.
I also like for my student to participate in at least one service project during the holiday season.

I love this simple idea to make homemade bird feeders.  I have a couple of parent that have agreed to help with this project so each child will be able to make a bird feeder to keep at their home and one to give away.
The Christmas party is so much fun for the kids but it can be a bit stressful for the teacher if you don't have a plan in place.

This site has great ideas for Minute to Win It games that would be perfect for our class party.
